Here is a poem I wrote in 2004….
The Black Rose
In a field far away from all we know, a war begins once a flower grows
Twice upon a time this tale of mice and men, displays the tensions up in the lion’s den.
This flower however, affects the weather, makes desperate men go to desperate measures
Beauty brings upon suffering long, kill the next man just to prove you’re strong.
The flower will eventually wither away, the bloodshed will leave enough dead to this day,
When the flower’s in bloom, there’s no room for 2 soldiers,
One will be left in the field, One will grow older.
Osheaga -Perfect way to end off July/Thnx Dad
This past Sunday, I was able to score a ticket to Osheaga. It was my first time at this festival, I’ve been wanting to go for quite some time. I got to see Cypress Hill, Tragically Hip and a little bit of Death Cab for Cutie. They were all incredible, the last time I say Cypress Hill was when they were in Montreal in 1993, with The Fugees and A tribe Called Quest.I was 8 years old at that show, and I will nevertheless still never forget it. Cypress put on a high energy performance, performing a lot of their classics, and mixing in material from their latest album. It was really mind blowing to see A Hip-Hop act , followed by The Tragically Hip.An amazing contrast of sounds, and a nice change of pace, musically. The Hip did not disapoint, the crowd was totally into it,that’s the feeling that makes an outdoor festival so unforgettable. Not to take anything away from Cypress, the crowd was lighting up and rocking out with them too! I’ve always been a big fan of The Tragically Hip, I kept on hoping they would play ahead by a century, and then they did. Although, I make Hip-Hop music, I love bands, I love Music no matter the style of genre. Music, for me is the strongest form of communication. A song can make u smile, make u cry. It can put u in the exact moment, when u first heard that song, re-iterating what you felt at that time.In my 25 years, Music is the constant shrink in my life. This is probably the reason Its so close to my heart.Music is my release and my escape. When I listen to John Lennon, The Doors, Jay Z or Biggie. They all put me in different states of mind. But the best artists, make u feel like they are literally right next to you. When I would listen to Reasonable Doubt, Jay Z’s debut album, I felt like he was sitting right next to me in my black civic. That’s what makes him who he is.The best music hits you in your soul, hits u in your heart. All this to say, without music, I wouldn’t be who I am today. So thank you Dad, for raising me on The Beatles, Paul Simon, Janis Joplin.Thank u for instilling this love in my heart, love for the stage, the studio. For the drive and determination to follow my dreams at Any cost.
IF U DON’T KNOW…NOW U KNOW – BEARDYMAN
I was very lucky to catch his Midnight show a couple weeks back,Beardyman is a human beatbox who puts on an unbelievable show. He is a human sound effect machine,he builds the song by sampling his voice through a K-os pad and layering it.By far, one of the most impressive shows I’ve ever seen. This is not the show I saw, but regardless its DOPE. If you dont know, now u know – Beardyman.

From Schmata To The Spotlight
I’ve been crazy busy since my last post! Besides currently working full time at JCorp, i perform whenever I can. I recently performed at TEENFEST at Palais Des Congrès with Cole, another young talented artist, who also happens to be one of my boss’s son. It was a great performance and Young Money and Danny Fernandes performed too which was sick.
I also got a huge opportunity along with Cole to open up for Mac Miller last week! The crowd was going crazy before I got on anxiously waiting for Mac Miller, but I was able to grab there attention with my performance and got an AMAZING response in return! I always get a spike in my adrenaline when i perform on stage but the feeling i got from that crowds energy was incredible!
I’ve also been working hard on my mixtape which will be out by the end of July. Im really excited to finish it and for you guys to hear my new material! I’ll definitely be posting some pics from the last couple shows in the near future, in the meantime i want to thank everyone out there who supports me and my music. If it wasn’t for you guys I would not be doing this so thank you!
